Pioneer Investors – The Authority of Small and Medium Enterprises Development revealed the details of the annual Gulf Entrepreneurs Forum 2021 which will be held from November 8th to 11th.
It was announced in the press conference called “Future Prospects for Entrepreneurship in the GCC States for the Arab States of the Gulf” in Hormuz Hotel. This forum aims to encourage small and medium enterprises to expand and invest in the GCC countries. In addition to exchanging experiences between the holders, this forum also introduces successful entrepreneurship experiences, develops the sector and discusses its challenges, and identifies available financing opportunities. It targets Gulf entrepreneurs, potential and supportive entities for entrepreneurship, business incubators, business accelerators, and funding agencies from member countries.
The forum includes several simultaneous events, namely business meetings and the Gulf Franchise Exhibition, in addition to acquaintance and networking events for Gulf entrepreneurs with each other. With outdoor activities that focus on leadership, teamwork, communication, and other activities and visits.
Similar to the “Entrepreneurial Adventure” camp, 60 Gulf business leaders come together to engage in foreign activities that focus on leadership, teamwork, and communication, among other activities and visits through this forum.
Qais bin Rashid Al Tobi, Vice President of the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development mentioned that the forum works as a continuation of the joint efforts between the Gulf countries in the SME sector and for implementing its decisions that are made in the 57th meeting of the Commercial Cooperation Committee in the presence of Their Excellencies and Ministers of Trade in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which was held in Muscat in May 2019. It was stipulated that the Sultanate would host the first edition of this forum.
It is worth mentioning that the implementation of the initiatives of the Commercial Cooperation Committee is proceeding through the committee that is responsible for the Initiatives of entrepreneurs and the knowledge economy for small and medium enterprises.
Al-Tobi explained that the forum contributes to the promotion and empowerment of entrepreneurship in the GCC countries through the development of cooperation mechanisms between the participating parties, as this sector has become one of the Important sectors on which the Gulf countries depend in their national economies and 12speakers will present the forum meetings.
The forum will focus on leadership Business in the GCC countries, the financing of Gulf entrepreneurs, the available investment opportunities, and a review of experiences of the best practices from various Gulf countries.
We hope that this forum will come out with recommendations and joint action plans that contribute to the development of the Gulf Entrepreneurship system and set an implementation path for it. For his part, Abdullah bin Khamis Al Sunaidi, who is in charge of managing the work of the Vice President of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority said: “on the sidelines of the forum, the Gulf Franchise Exhibition will be held, which is a platform to invest in Gulf brands for entrepreneurs, in which 60 franchising companies will participate, provided that each country is represented by Gulf exhibitors to market expansion opportunities and franchise their own in the participating Gulf countries.
He said that the exhibition aims to market the Gulf commercial agencies at the Gulf and international levels and find opportunities for partnerships between them and other institutions.
As stated during the press conference about the details of the leadership talk competition, which this year’s edition was devoted to competition at the Gulf level, bint Sulaiman Al-Mandharia, said: This year, the authority decided that the tournament would be held at the Gulf level to coincide with the activities of the forum, in which 12 Gulf entrepreneurs will compete from all the Gulf countries, to present their ideas and existing projects that are economically feasible and applicable in a competitive atmosphere among the Gulf public in the forum. when the entrepreneur presents his project The evaluation committee concerned is responsible for evaluating the results of all offers, provided that the winners of the competition receive the support provided by a group of business owners and financial support agencies from different Gulf countries.
She also said: the competition aims to enhance cooperation between small and medium enterprises in the Gulf on the one hand, and large institutions and investors on the other hand, in addition, to introduce the pioneers to the Gulf financing outlets and develop nontraditional alternative means to support Gulf entrepreneurs.
