His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said on Twitter:

“Today, we launched a national program for programmers in cooperation with Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Cisco, IBM, HS, Linkedin, Nvidia and Facebook… The goal Training and attracting 100,000 programmers, creating 1,000 major digital companies within 5 years… and increasing investment directed at startups from 1.5 billion to 4 billion dirhams.

His Highness added through Twitter: “The National Program for Programmers is a new step to build our digital economy within our new national plans… The world is changing… The speed of digital change is multiplying… And the shape of the economy will differ… And the nature of professions will change… And survival will be for the most prepared. Speed ​​and keeping pace with the new changes in our world.

His Highness continued, “I tell our young people that the future has new tools… and speaks a different language… and will work in a virtual environment… and we want them to be at the heart of this future.”

His Highness said: “We want the National Program for Programmers to engage digital communities at the local level in the process of digital transformation in the UAE, elevate its leading and global role in designing the future, and embrace talent, entrepreneurs, academics and emerging and global companies, in order to enhance its leading position globally in various future investment fields.”

His Highness added: “We want to attract the best international programmers to the UAE and we will provide them with the necessary infrastructure to develop innovative ideas that serve the world … We seek to establish 1,000 new companies in the field of the digital economy in the country within 5 years … and we will support Emirati programmers to be among the global elite.” In their field … we will use the promising experiences and energies to develop 10 platforms for community and humanitarian projects in the UAE.”
