Pioneers Investors – Expo 2020 Dubai will start within 3 months, with the participation of about 191 countries, bodies, organizations and partners, with up to 60 events daily.
The Expo 2020 Dubai team, with more than 1,000 local and international media, organized the technical details to convey its events to the world, starting next October, as part of the global media briefing, which was held over two days and included representatives of the Expo and local, Arab and international media.
Reem Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of the Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau, said that Expo 2020 Dubai will represent an exceptional, inspiring event, an opportunity for communication and acquaintance between the peoples of the world, and a platform to discuss challenges and work to build a better future for our country, our Arab and Islamic surroundings, and the world. The media will play a key role in communicating and publicizing the Expo message.
She stressed that work has been done to harness the latest technologies and expertise in the media sector to facilitate the task of media that will connect us to the world and help us invite it to work together to draw a road map for what is to come.
Expo prepared a huge media center with an area of about 10,000 square meters distributed over several floors within a private building located near Al Wasl Square, which is the center of major events and the beating heart of the Expo. The center is equipped with everything that is needed by the media accredited and registered with Expo 2020 to operate from it.
It is expected that the number of media representatives accredited to cover the event will reach 20,000 people, and the Expo Media Center will operate from eight in the morning until one in the afternoon from Saturday to Wednesday, and until two in the afternoon on Thursday and Friday.
The event provides many services to media professionals, including the “Tawasul” website, which is an essential tool for planning the visit. It also conveys to the media the most important news and updates on the facilities and services provided, such as media accreditation procedures and their permits.
Tawasul also offers content assets, including newsletters, photographs, audio and visual media, and information on broadcasts and photography.
During the meeting with the media held remotely, Expo 2020 Dubai announced the start of selling its tickets on July 18, to allow guests to plan early their visits to the United Arab Emirates, which welcomes everyone to unite efforts and aspirations, and work to create a better future for humanity.
The price of a one-day ticket is 95 dirhams ($26), while the price of a ticket that allows entry without restriction for 30 consecutive days is 195 dirhams ($53), and the price of a season ticket, which allows entry to an unlimited number of times during the six months of Expo, is 495 dirhams. ($135).
Expo 2020 tickets provide entry to all pavilions, events and live shows, and provide endless opportunities to enjoy Expo 2020’s live, diverse and ever-changing program of events, including up to 60 live events every day, music, performances and arts from all over the world.
All those under the age of 18 and students with valid student cards from any educational institution in the world will be able to enter free of charge, giving them access to a wealth of educational opportunities and inspiring experiences. Expo also offers free tickets for people of determination, and utilities get a 50 percent discount. Entry will be free for visitors aged 60 or over.
Tickets will be available from July 18 or through more than 2,500 authorized ticket distributors, including online travel agents, tour operators, hotel groups and airlines from more than 100 markets around the world.
