Comex… a name shines in the sky of the Sultanate

Pioneer Investors – The Comex name has been shining for 30 years and is one of the largest technology exhibitions in Oman and the second largest in the region. In this exhibition, some governmental agencies participate annually to show their most prominent achievements and steps towards technological progress and digital transformation, along with a group of the largest international and local specialized companies in the fields of technology, communications, and information technology, in addition to emerging companies in the same field.

Comex also plays an important role in creating awareness about the use of information and communication technology and artificial intelligence (AI).

The COMEX Artificial Intelligence Conference – COMEX AI will present high-level quality targeting professionals and experts in the same field. It will cover all sectors that are identified for growth and technological progress within the Oman 2040 vision in addition to other key sectors that contribute significantly to the development of Oman.

The Sultanate is providing outstanding investment opportunities for ICT startups. This is done by increasing tourism activities, infrastructure, and smart city projects, such as the logistics city near Muscat, Duqm City, and Al Irfan City, and the transformation of the Wilayat of Muttrah into a smart city. COMEX will mark the era of economic growth by discussing the evolution of the ICT sector in transforming companies and industries.

While ICT applications are being implemented in the Sultanate in different sectors, COMEX will showcase technological developments across different industries such as manufacturing, energy, services, transportation, healthcare, construction, infrastructure, retail sector, finance, education, and open industry, oil, and gas sector.

The information transformation based on knowledge is the core and essence of the Sultanate’s 2040 vision. COMEX will focus on business solutions related to IT and computers, big data/storage, artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, 3D printing, cloud data centers, and the telecommunications sector economics and cyber security.

31st Annual Hybrid Event will be held Face to Face on 23 – 25 May 2022 at Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre – OCEC & Virtual Support Platforms. The event will include; Exhibitions, conferences, Awards, Workshops, Seminars, Certified Training Programs, Gaming, B2B Meetings, and Attractions.

What distinguishes the current version of COMEX is the joining of the Oman Technology Fund and signing of an agreement with the COMEX Group to compete with emerging companies at COMEX 2022, to enhance investment opportunities in technology companies within the framework of Oman’s 2040 vision to strengthen the information and communications technology sector locally and abroad. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Oman Technology Fund by Dr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al Balushi, Acting CEO of the Fund, and by the organizers of Comex, Amr bin Abdullah Baaboud, CEO of the Omani Company for Exhibitions and International Trade.

For the first time, the Comex exhibition will have a dedicated area for startups, providing the opportunity for many companies from all over the Arab countries to showcase their achievements and services. To assess the extent to which it can be included under the support of the Oman Technology Fund’s investments.
